About Sean Griffin
According to Nolan Bushnell, entrepreneurial legend and founder of Atari and Chuck E. Cheese’s, “Sean is the world’s best graphic facilitator”.
While Sean is nationally recognized for his work as a visual thinker and graphic facilitator it is also his “never ever give up” attitude that engages individuals and corporations to shift their thinking to achieve a culture of high performance. He works with clients in a wide range of industries and focuses primarily on developing a purpose-driven performance culture.
School of Hard Knocks
Sean did not follow the traditional path through the education system, but was fortunate to have mentors along the way who recognized and fostered his unique artistic and entrepreneurial abilities. Never one for taking the easy way, Sean earned his facilitation chops by working with diverse groups, including the gangs of South Central Los Angeles. As a corporate and social entrepreneur Sean has been involved in founding over 25 businesses and non-profit endeavors.
Harvesting the Wisdom of the Collective
Sean is one of less than 50 people in the world with the powerful combined talent of graphic facilitator and business strategist. It is this combination of the artistic and linear, or “whole brain” thinking that allows Sean to truly reach diverse groups of people and uncover the unsaid. He is an intentional listener and is able to empower, engage, validate and connect people to their inner-self.
“Sean has the ability to create an environment where people feel heard, are able to listen to one another and, in the moment, see a work of art unfold that reflects a shared vision and strong sense of community that they have created together.” — Chuck Castellano, Former Deputy Director, Commercial Technology Office, NASA Ames Research Center.
As a visual thinking entrepreneur and Internet pioneer, Sean founded one of the first interactive agencies and Web site development companies broadcasting original television content. He supports his select client base through business model development, visual communications, creativity, strategic planning, group dynamics, marketing, and “What Box” thinking.
Sean is a motivational speaker and author of the What Box?® series of books including What Box? — Out-of-the-Box Thinking for Career and Life, The Creativity Challenge, Arrows of Wisdom, and his most recent, The Seeker — Discovering and Living Your Life’s Purpose.
Sean believes in a philosophy of “give it away to get it back” and he shares his talents and passions extensively with the Tulsa community. Sean currently serves as President of Sustainable Tulsa, a grassroots non-profit organization dedicated to responsible economic growth, environmental stewardship and quality of life for all, and is co-chair of the Mayor’s Green Team. He serves on the Tulsa Economic Development Commission as the chair of Entrepreneurialism. Sean founded and serves as chair of Mayor Taylor’s Tulsa Entrepreneurial Spirit Award and the Tulsey Awards. Most recently Sean has lead the creation of The Collaboratorium, an entrepreneurial accelerator and resource center for local entrepreneurs.
